Here I am with some students from a Lower Primary class and an Upper Primary class last week. They were all so excited to find out the play they will be performing and their part in it. Still plenty of opportunity for new students to get involved and have a speaking part in the play.
In Drama Kids and DK Youth Theatre performances all students are on-stage throughout. Every child has at least 1 individual line (if they want one - fine if they don't) and plenty of ALL lines. Lots of ad lib, acting and reacting. And no waiting for your bit! No wonder we have so much fun!
Children loved dressing up and showing their parents a sample of what we've been doing in classes this term: Lost False Teeth, The Cooking Competition and a Witches and Wizards mini script to name just a few...
Our students love
working on mini scripts and creating their own character. Skills developed: voice projection, audience awareness, performance, confidence, teamwork.
Children love dressing up - so we offer the opportunity in primary classes a couple of times each term. And no one has to dress up if they don't feel comfortable doing so. We always support what is right for each individual child in Drama Kids and DK Youth Theatre.

Amazingly proud of Seth in our Driffield class. I received an email from CBBC looking for talented children to take part in the show and sent it to the parents of all our students. Seth auditioned and was chosen to be part of the show on Saturday 18th November. When he joined a couple of years ago he lacked confidence. He's come such a long way and has much further to go...
