Lower Upper Primary Class

Lower, Upper Primary & Composite Classes

Every class begins with introductory activities which get every child thinking and moving creatively from the very beginning of the class. Our speech section develops well projected voices with good, clear, articulate speech to which people will want to listen. Our movement section develops physical co-ordination and expression. The main part of each lesson is creative drama. The students work on a different improvisation every week or sometimes a mime to music, older children also work on mini scripts – developing creativity, communication, confidence and listening skills – all with the emphasis on having fun!

Youth Theatre Year 7

Youth Theatre - Year 7 +

No matter what level a student starts at in our Youth Theatre, our classes help them to develop their creativity, confidence and communication skills. We teach a wide variety of drama skills through scripted work and group and class improvisation in a variety of different genres.

Youth Theatre classes not only concentrate on drama skills - they also prepare students for adult life, in particular with presentation, confidence, public speaking and performance talents.

All Classes

In the Autumn Term all parents of Primary aged children are invited in to watch a whole class in progress. Youth Theatre parents watch a sample of the curriculum performed by the students.

In the Spring Term all parents of Primary aged children are invited in to watch their children perform some of the curriculum they have worked on during the term.

At the end of the academic year all students take part in a scripted production where the emphasis is on the whole class being involved, to experience and produce something really special.
